Astrid is from Suchitepéquez Guatemala. She is a mother to three children. Astrid immigrated when she was 19 with her three-year-old daughter fleeing domestic violence. She believes storytelling is an opportunity to express herself and step outside of the narratives that she has been led to believe about herself.
